Ouray Ice Camp Weekend 2026 | February 20–23, 2026

Get ready for a transformative winter adventure in one of the most iconic ice climbing destinations in North America. Join Loco por la Aventura for a three-day immersive ice climbing experience in the legendary Ouray Ice Park, surrounded by towering frozen walls, dramatic canyon terrain, and the inspiring alpine energy of Colorado’s high country.

Your adventure begins in Salt Lake City, where the group will meet at the airport on Friday, February 20th around 9:30 AM. From there, we’ll load into comfortable vans and begin a scenic six-hour drive across Utah and western Colorado toward Ouray.

By afternoon, we’ll arrive at our stunning mountain Airbnb—your basecamp for the weekend—where the experience officially begins. Over the next three days, you’ll train on world-class frozen terrain, learning essential ice climbing techniques with the support of expert guides and a beginner-friendly Latino community. After three unforgettable days, we return to Salt Lake City on Monday after midday, closing the weekend with stronger skills, new friendships, and memories that last a lifetime.

This is more than a course—it's a full winter immersion designed for first-time ice climbers stepping into a world of frozen adventure.

Across three full training days, you will develop foundational to intermediate skills:

• Crampon footwork & ice tool placement
• Body positioning, balance & climbing rhythm
• Top-rope systems & rope management
• Anchor building fundamentals
• Efficient upward movement & technique refinement
• Basic rescue concepts & risk assessment
• Group communication & safe climbing practices
• Winter leadership and decision-making

We begin our drive to Ouray shortly after meeting.
Return to SLC on Monday after midday.

3 nights in a beautiful mountain Airbnb in Ouray, surrounded by alpine scenery—comfortable, warm, and perfect for relaxing after climbing.

Please note: this is a shared-group accommodation, similar to most mountain expedition-style trips. Participants will share common areas and sleeping spaces with the group. Once the team is confirmed, we will organize room assignments to ensure comfort and clarity for everyone.
